Whilst I was in London at the weekend, I took the opportunity to pop into Space NK on Tottenham Court Road to see what goodies they have in store. Although we have Space NK stores around the North West, I always like to try out new branches when I travel. The store on Tottenham Court Road is quite small but really well set out so it is a pleasure to browse. The Sales Advisor in store was so helpful and I managed to select a few goodies to keep me entertained on the journey home.
The first item I selected was Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Champagne Pop. Even though I have enough highlighters to create my own glitter storm, I have been dying to get my hands on this product since I first heard the hype and luckily the product had just arrived in store. Becca is a brand that I have only really just started to use, I now have four products from the range and have to say that I have been very impressed with each one of them. When I first saw the Skin Perfector, I thought it reminded me of The Balm Mary-Lou Manizer, but having since studied the two side by side, the Becca version is more of a rose gold. It is heavily pigmented and truly stunning. The packaging is beautiful and almost like a piece of jewellery when held in my hand. It is a smooth black case with a silver metallic ‘medal’ style embellishment on top with the Becca branding. I am yet to try it properly as part of a full make up look but as soon as I do I will post a full review.
The other new addition to my Becca Collection is the Ultimate Coverage Concealing Crème. I chose this concealer as I have fallen hopelessly in love with the Becca Under Eye Corrector which I have been using with Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer in the Shade Chantilly, but as this concealer is dominated by yellow undertones and the Corrector is a pearlised pink, I thought I would try something with more pink undertones. As I am naturally very pale I chose the shade Praline in the Becca concealer. It comes in a small container and is designed to be used straight out of the pot with a brush or your finger, unlike the Nars concealer which is in a lip gloss style tube with a wand. The consistency of the Becca conealer is also much thicker and heavier. I have quickly tried this product and I am very impressed so far with the coverage, particularly under the eyes so I will post a full opinion once I have given it a good trial.
The other two purchases were my guilty pleasure – lipstick! Both from Lipstick Queen and both utterly gorgeous. I am always completely seduced by a good lipstick display and the Lipstick Queen packaging is inspiring. My first pick was from the Velvet Rope range and the shade is ‘Star System’. This is a perfect nude with a very comfortable matt texture. This was a little pricey at £35.00 but it feels really special. It also has a strangely gorgeous scent to it, very much like mint chocolate! The packaging is a stunning gold square design with vertical ridges and when the lid is replaced it closes with a magnetic click. I was surprised how heavy it was, this certainly looks like a real quality product. My other lipstick choice was from the All That Jazz range in the shade ‘Hot Piano’. This comes in a sparkly black, round, plastic tube. It looks like the kind of sparkly accessory you will want to produce in a nightclub for a full on glamour touch up. I also chose this particular shade as it is a deep, dark red with a sparkly pearlised finish, so it looks like the perfect Christmas day colour and I will no doubt be sporting it on the 25th December!
I will have full reviews up on each of these products very soon.
